As a president of Cabrini's Spanish club (Pura Vida) on campus, excel has been very useful.
It helps for budgeting money, listing members, and providing our directors a list of a plan of events. From creating charts and categorizing it by color, sizes, and from alphabetical order. Creating PowerPoints I get to present everything that the club has done from salsa night, dominoes night, back sales, and stereotype projects. Placing effects to make the presentation more interesting to make other interested in the club. It is because of me using these technologies, that help better my time in presenting and updating it with new information or pictures for the club. The changes which will change will be the members, pictures of new activities and etc.

Robots Contribute to Unemployment
It is amazing, how throughout the years technology has transformed and has replaced employment. In my Sociology class, we were discussing about how machines and the thought of robots can be forming to take over the world. The article states that about 75 percent can cause unemployment. The change of technology has taken over about 4 million people unemployed. Employees who work placing data in databases and operating multiple machines, now that has all changed and the use of bigger machinery had formed. Today they call our robots, our phones, cars, tablets, and etc. They have already taken over the use of our brain because of social media, the use of mapping and other apps. Stephanie Mlot stated in her article, by 2025 robotics will be taking over industries; providing health care, transport and customer service. Although maybe there is a way robots and humans may work together. Robots can be a great friend and at least help other make money. Robots will be able to create more jobs and industries. Creating the world with no need of human use, as I believe.

Multitasking
Multitasking is a skill that is built to do multiple things at once. Studies show that our generation today are horrible at multitasking when it comes to focusing on important things; such as a teacher presenting or teaching their class. As I read the article on "How Does Multitasking Change
The Way Kids Learn?" it states, children of this generation distract themselves with watching TV and paying attention to their phones while doing work. It is stated, students lose focus on what their mind should know is important. As a college student myself, I would say multitasking is not one of my greatest skills. As a student, I must have music or the TV playing in the background while I am studying or doing homework. The only reason for the background noise, is because I personally hate listening to the sound of my own voice and will get tired to continue my work. Being a student while in class; yes, I must stay focused on the board and what the teacher is stating because I feel as though I wont be able to understand the class or lose notes. I would say my personality is focused when it comes to working on the importance, pertaining my future. I tend to block everything out and focus on the one thing that is in front of me, or is important. With this being said, I have taken a test on multitasking and scoring a 36 percent shows I can not multitask. I believe focusing on one thing at a time is best because you can perfect what your doing and get it right at once.
It also shows, it different when multitasking from watching TV and texting because you can stop paying attention for a second and not really miss anything. Although when doing something one at a time, you are able to comprehend on what your doing.

Wearable Technology
As the years come and go technology has continued to grow and make lives easier and much lazier for individuals. Based on the article "Wearable Technology Creeps into the Workplace" technology has formed Microchips that are planted in the skin to have easier access to work areas instead of the use of keys and cards. This article discusses a system that is used to back up power on wearable devices, for examples a wearable bracelet keeps track of employees movement and health, helping companies keep track of their employee's health insurance policy. Then there is the "Smart Cap", to help truck drivers stay awake on the road. The cap has a sensor which alarms the driver when they are falling asleep. Although their priority is to keep individuals safe their is no privacy when it comes to making these wearable devices. Every device holds a chip that can track where individuals location just as much as holding information that should lead back to someone.
Now that we have phones that also keep us out off society and into the world of Web and media, Androids have came up with a watch as well. The watch resembles the Apple watch, answers messages, calls and app calls. As it also updates its apps, it makes it easier to respond from the watch, but does not let you see of speak through the watch. I don't think I would want a wearable device because I think having my phone on me at all times is good enough; besides I don't like watches all that much. I also don't want other ways that the government hackers can get information about myself.

Stop Texting & Lets Talk!!
Have you ever noticed when your sitting down at a table with friends or family and there phone's becomes the main priority? Technology has taken over a huge part of our lives, and its bad enough that we carry it around with us? Our phones are the biggest distraction when it comes to communicating with someone face to face.
From reading this article, I have never realized until I experienced it myself. Cellphones disconnect people from understanding and processing what another is saying when together in a room. The fact that their are so may people who would rather send a text message then talk in person or pick up a phone and call, is disappointing. I believe our generation has failed in our society today, because without communication how will you get to know another person, or be able to work were your communication skills must be used. Cellphones are more of a distraction for many people, and for most people whether family, friend, or someone new; looking at your phone during a conversation may rub off as a conversation being boring or the person is unimportant.
Although, I can not lie I have done it myself while I'm at dinner with friends here on campus, but since I see it being done I do it as well. From that being said as stated in the article "People find conversations where they don't mind being interrupted". It is because of our cell phones that we don't know how to have a conversation and rather sit there saying nothing.
Sad to say, but I have been on a date before when the both of us had nothing to really say and played games, and looked at social media. It isn't the best date, but at the time I didn't see nothing of it, until now when I find it rude when someone you don't know is trying to get to know you and your on your phone. It is now that I know so much about others and they know about me, because we put our phones aside and have a conversation and wait till we are ready to leave dinner.
Most of the time I rather call someone on the phone then send a text because I feel like it is faster to pick up a phone and call than sit there and wait for a message back. Most people ignore phone calls because they don't know how to hold a conversation, but how will you learn if you don't try.

Social Media in the Workplace
One of the subjects that I decided to discuss are the pros on "Social Media in the Workplace". It is only right for corporations and many different organizations to have someone responsible to keep it's social media updated on events, and photos. As a president of a Spanish club (Pura Vida) on campus, I know it is the best way to communicate with other organizations, for support and for partnership in raising money for one another's organization. It is also another way for the business to get attention and feed back from those who view to make the organization or corporation better. This is another way for other organization/ corporations to discover and find out about what your organization/corporation does as well, opening new opportunities to grow as an organization/ corporation because you are letting the media draw others to participate.
One of the research tools that I used to research a little more about pros towards Social Media, is Duckduckgo.com. This website was more detailed and one giving me articles to help provide me more pros and cons towards Social Media for the workplace. I also researched the photo that I provided from the images on DuckDuckgo.
Read an article about it as well, which you can click on the link below and read more:

Targets's Coupon App
As
a Target employee, I find it very useful and a great deal for all
customers to download the Cartwheel app. It is a free coupon app that
customers can download on their phone and search or scan items while in the
store to receive great deals to save money. Cartwheel gives the
option of signing in through Facebook or email and once they are signed
in, customers are given a search bar on the top of the app and a category list
showing, market, electronics, etc. When a customer finds a particular item
on the app they are given the option "Add" on the item selected. When
the coupon is selected, it will be seen under the bar code. Every coupon that
is added on the customers cartwheel gives an expiration date for when the
coupon expires. If a customer’s coupon is expired on the app, the app will
automatically delete the item off the list and notify the customer as soon as
they get back on the app. Cartwheel allows the customer to select about 18
coupons and once it is time to check out, the cashier will scan their cartwheel
bar code on their phone helping each and every guest save money. If you’re a shopaholic like me and enjoy shopping at Target, then
downloading cartwheel is the best thing you can do to help yourself save money.
As an employer for Target I have heard great things from customers regarding
cartwheel and how much they saved because of cartwheel.

Choosing the Best Smartphone

"Selecting a cellphone plan is the most complicated financial transaction that a consumer will ever make," stated by Mr. Toikka. In this article they have come to the conclusion that AT&T has the best deals for families, and understanding the difference between phone companies and what they offer to their customers, from the memory, payment plan, activation fees, and data usage. The article discusses the two year plan, as they call it the "Death of the 2 year plan", AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon drop the two year plan because it is cheaper for their customers. The authors of this article Brian and Chen discuss the contract-fee plans on the differences in prices, and etc. I thought this article proved you should be smart with your finances by calculating the fees before you decide a phone plan for your family, or self. The authors of this article were able to have myself think twice of my phone plan, because to be honest it would be too much for me to calculate and really think twice on switching my company of Sprint to AT&T. If you really think about it, technology has really taken over lives of everyone. In other words, its much easier with technology now than it was back then. My smartphone means so much to me, it has everything I need, google, twitter, facebook, instagram, and etc. I believe technology makes a person lazy, but even though it does has its down faults its worth every penny out of your pocket.
